At least bring common sense to the table
The Liberalist Doctrine for IRAQ

I believe the merits should precede a conflict, not depend on its outcome. Unfortunately, I agree with a friends surmise; “… Bush's attempt to democratize Iraq will be considered brilliant if it works, and if it does not, idiotic in light of the Muslim ideal of the best community and the history of the region. It’s not over yet.” Terrorism is virtually a way of life in the Muslim culture and has been taking place there for 1000 years or more. It was pretty much ignored by the rest of the world … until the Muslims decided to indoctrinate the rest of the world into this despicable practice some 20 or 25 years ago. So, one has to be careful when dealing with a complete foreign culture. It is easy to mistakenly apply one’s own values especially when cultures clash in almost all respects. It has always been made quite clear that the Bush administration expected the next 10 or 20 years would be spent fighting the worldwide war on terror. If it were our intention to actually conquer Iraq, then I would be inclined to believe that support of terrorism in any form would be at least an incarcerationable offense. But that has never been the intention of the Bush administration. We went there to dispose the sadistic Saddam regime and to attempt to remove the yoke from the necks of the Iraqi people and we were successful beyond anyone’s expectations. Almost to a man, this action received wholehearted support in the States and in Congress. As far as I am concerned … the war ENDED there and then.

The nightmare that followed took almost everyone aback. And if you recall, it was ONLY during the ensuing hostilities that political dissention took a marked increase. All the claims that Bush mishandled the war are just poppycock as it went off like clockwork. I agree that there have been a lot of errors in the aftermath, but blaming Bush for all of them is ridiculous. Wars are prone to errors because there are just too many variables involved, and no war we ever fought anyway has transpired without errors in doctrine and judgment.

In any event, we found ourselves in a downward spiral and were caught between a rock and a hard spot. After the first year or so, it became apparent that the Iraqis were not capable of stepping up to the plate, at least not nearly as quickly as we were wanting. We had just two real options. We could stick it out and give the Iraqis the much needed time to overcome tens of decades of draconian brainwashing, or we could cut and run and leave the Iraqis on their own. Even if the only consideration were centered on the Iraqis I think we had already obligated ourselves to continued support, costly as that would become. But that wasn’t the only consideration by far. Amongst the many is the one that ALL Americans should selfishly ponder … what is in the best interests to OUR own people, which doesn’t at all equate with what’s best for one party or another.

As far as I can tell, the liberalities hold steadfast that their only consideration is personal political party expediency, which seems to directly conflict their mores concerning human and civil liberties. Compounding this oddity is the fact that they are more than willing to grant these same human and civil liberties TO THE TERRORIST, instead. If that isn’t a paradox I don’t know what is. The problem with liberals is that like their agendas and moral values ride the political winds and are just as easily overlooked (as in the case of the Iraqi people) or strenuously perused (as in the case of the TERRORISTS). And the insanity of it all is their uncanny ability to convince their minions to buy into this innate frivolousness?

We are in a war against terror and many people are going to die because of it no matter what we finally decide to do. The liberalists would have you think that the loss of life will abruptly end and that they will be able to go about with their Bush bashing without any diversions. Sadly, this is not going to happen, no matter what we do. The only consideration here (and common sense can go a long way here) is to choose the path which is likely to result in a minimization of loss of life, both for us and the Iraqis. Sticking our heads in the sand as the liberals would have us do will in the long run be the cause of much more pain, misery and death in comparison to our present death rate. And sadly enough, we will eventually have to get back into the fray at a time when the terrorists are much stronger and prevalent throughout the world.
