At least bring common sense to the table
… the movie – 2004 – By Michael Moore
Published on May 4, 2011 By BoobzTwo In Politics

I must confess that I actually thought I hated this man and everything he was about until I started experiencing an overload of inaccurate and fictitious information the USG keeps pounding out and calling it the truth … so I decided to try an independent review of what I thought I knew and didn’t really. So I never watched or read anything Moore was involved with but I was more than willing to tell you how screwed up he was. So I rented the movie from Netflix and watched it … and I was amazed.

I have watched it twice now and I cannot find one shred of much information that is not factual or accurate. Beyond some idiosyncrasies in his sense of humor (they are funny); he presents very valid arguments and backs them up with documentation and interviews. He brings to light many of the things I have discovered in my own research into deceit, terrorism and the USG.

When I was a liberal (before I knew better) the only accurate information had to come from another liberal else it was a lie??? Later when I made my second mistake and became a conservative I learned the error of my ways … the truth could only be had from like ilk … so imagine my confusion when I called the neolibs and neocons for what they are and went independent. Suddenly, I have no source of valid information at all now (seemingly hehehe). I have had no success at all trying to walk the moderate tightrope between all the sharks without one side or the other dragging me down, go figure.

As far as Democrats/Republicans are concerned, their only care about the independent majority is how many they can acquire each election. But no matter which side is the best recruiter or who gets most independent votes … matters that concern the moderates will largely be ignored or sidelined and the neo-politicians will go their own course virtually unrestricted and completely unaccountable.

Haha, Found you  . I had to search. As a north american I almost gave up as it was to much work.

End of the world cartoon was a blast. "And the meteor said Fuck dat" I was howling

I seen the writing on the wall about Iran a long time ago. The trick is not to watch TV AT ALL or when I do just to see what the hell everyone is yamering about, watch for the propaganda and filter out the conditioning words like freedumb and demoncracy and war on terror. There is a reason it is nick-name idiot box. Canadian news does it to some extent but watching american tv just makes most canadians laugh.

I will trust whom ever earns my trust weather it be YouTube users or Al Jazeera or Noam Chomsky and when I want to laugh I will watch american news.

I don't care if the whole damn world eats shit when it's handed to them and called it ice-cream. When it smells like shit and looks like shit, guess what, IT'S SHIT.

John F. Kennedy Secret Society Speech (Part 2/2)

Here is where I have to point out that a lot of conspiracy pages get there secret society proof from. Hog wash, Kennedy is talking about the cold war and the responsibilities of the press and national security. Most important is the responsibilities the press has and its importance to the pulic good which to me has gone in the toilet.

But Secret Societies do exist

No discussion of the arguments or facts, just ad hominem attacks on the source. The only 'untainted' sources are the truthers. Sad, but hardly unexpected, and clear evidence of a lack of interest in the truth.
Isn't that usually how it is done around here. It has been some time now since reasonable facts were used in the opposing views, instead their time is spent mostly telling you how stupid you are and why ... without facts, go figure. I cannot go quite this far, “'untainted' sources are the truthers” though because we also have a reasonable amount of idiots who just hate everything USG (understandably so?). But these yo-yos either forgot (?) how to argue a point or as you said they are happy with the status quo, go figure.

I'm glad you can finally admit this Boob, it's about time. You are now well on your way to fixing your problems. After all, the first step to solving your problems is admitting you have them.

myfist0, just think of all the Harvard graduates that have blessed the ranks of the USG, hum...

Al Gore, Henry Kissinger, Barack Obama, Janet Reno, Alberto Gonzales, Robert McNamara, Henry Paulson, Tom Ridge, Caspar Weinberger, Elizabeth Dole, Russ Feingold, Al Franken, Bob Graham, H. John Heinz, Edward Kennedy, Jay Rockefeller, Jim Doyle, Mitt Romney, Michael Huffington, William J. Jefferson, Sandy Berger, Michael Bloomberg, Ralph Nader, Franklin Raines, Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., Bill O'Reilly, Matt Damon, Conan O'Brien, Amy Bishop, John F. Kennedy and George W. Bush. Some I came up with…

Wonder how this list stacks up against the “Skull and Bones” roles. Seems like we experienced many problems with most though, bummer that.

Thanks for the clips. I have heard parts of this but never got the whole enchilada.

Whoa ... did I hear some more whining above ... sa-la-vie bucko, hehehe.

That Kennedy speech is a good example of things can be turned around to focus on a totally different subject. With a little editing the context can be totally changed. The MSM (main stream media) are masters of that art, so are bible thumpers. I have to grant that everyone does it.

I have tried to present the USG as an Imperialistic empire builder but the most ever granted me was that we used to be ...

I am not taking a microscope to Michael Moore, all I am saying is he is a liar and to not believe anything he says without taking it with a grain of salt
I can live with that stipulation, but the focus should be on the USG / Bush admin ... not Moore, is all. You do not have any problems talking about one idiot who has no political influence (besides a negative one) and you give the other idiot (s) a pass while you pretend they are … well I do not know how you feel about the USG because you are seemingly just interested in bashing the messenger Moore. So not only do I think you are being hypocritical here, you are also being dishonest to yourself. You can use a ‘macro-scope’ on the USG and should have no problem filtering out the brouhaha and outright lies … but you cannot do this by bashing Moore.

on May 24, 2011

Forget microscopes & macroscopes.  Only thing useful for examining Moore is a proctoscope.

LOL ... ok, so I will leave that chore to someone else.

If that is the focus, seems strange to use Moore in the OP. One could just as easily use the Daily Kos, the Huffington Post, or DU to corroborate Moore's position on the Bush administration, as the unabashed "truth". They swim in that at those sites.

The only movie I ever saw of Moore's was "Bowling for Columbine" (as a class project) in which his goal was to blame Kmart for selling ammo and Charleston Heston for being in the NRA, and everyone except those responsible. At no point was any blame assigned to the shooters or their parents lack of parenting. This is a documentary? Hardly. I see no reason to reward him with my entertainment dollars. If a sources agenda accomplish a desired outcome, people with those same views will find the source credible.

Moore's Documentary just brought a lot of good questions to the MSM. I think we have already agreed the Moore uses sensationalizm or questionable tactics but has had the effect (like with BT) for people to do there own research and ask the hard questions.

Just look at the poll images from PEW above about the trust being at record lows, printed by the Washington Post and the NY Times. Without people like Moore people would just blindly follow. Yes question Moore's motives (mostly money I assume) but at least look at all the other evidence or lack thereof (yes there are a lot of wack-a-doos) and maybe see why nobody trusts the USG anymore. BT is doing a great job of sifting through all the people that are off there meds and posting some great info and views from intelligent people and reputable sources.

Fear is the foundation of most governments.

Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.

Yea, I know, but that is the strange thing about this OP. When it was written, I had just watched the movie (took me 7 years to force myself, reluctantly) and was amazed at how many things within supported what I had already convinced myself were valid facts. I do not think I had any particular motives for the post, but Moore himself was not my emphasis … it was the message (properly sifted for trash).

I had no idea this would almost self-destruct from the beginning although I did know that the less informed would become involved. The first couple of hundred posts pretty well convinced me that there was nothing to be gained by trying to actually discuss the movie … so I tried to bring the discussions away from Moore and his stupid movies and onto the actual subject matter that was (should have been)the next logical step.

If one were to be picky here, the OP was about the Movie … not the idiot who constructed it, just a thought.

Glad you were able to sift the bad trash from the good trash.  Always better to work with good trash.
